Comparison Review : Lancôme Genifique Vs L’Oreal Youth Code ❤

Hello girls, today I am going to do a comparison review on Lancôme Genifique Youth Activator and L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-essence. Gosh this is a long delayed post… always had in mind to review these two product but never put into action until now…. Late is better than never right? :x

If you have read my blog posts -- Click here ~ you might have heard me mentioning about Lancôme Genifique as one of my Holy Grail product. I have gone through so many bottles already and have been using for more than 2 years now (still a big fan of it!!).  

The reason I brought L’Oreal Youth Code pre-essence is mainly for comparison, I curious to find out would it be comparable to Lancôme Genifique Youth Activator. So is high end product better or drugstore product better? Let do a comparison below…. 

If you look at the ingredient lists above, both products have quite a number of similar ingredients.  Lancôme Genifique Youth Activator is a little tiny bit more viscous compared to L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-essence but both absorbs really fast.

To my opinion, Lancôme Genifique Youth Activator works better on me as compared to L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-essence, I can really see the results and better absorption of skincare.

As for L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-essence, it works fine but the effect is slower (I would recommend it for younger ladies). It is also a cheaper option if you are looking for a pre-essence to help boost up the absorption of your follow up skincare products.

1st Dog Grooming Experience with Sopra Ginza Singapore (Dog Salon) ❤

Hihi~ if you are not aware from my previous post, I had got myself a puppy!! She is a Silky Terrier and her name is YOki ❤ !! Refer to my previous post >> Click Here to get a sneak peek of her younger days photo when she is about 3-4mths old. She is now 6 months old already… how I wish that time can stop right here and she can be forever a puppy (wishful thinking of all puppy owners)!!

Ok~ back to the grooming experience with Sopra Ginza. Why did I choose Sopra Ginza out of so many pet grooming options available in Singapore? Actually I was recommended by one of my friend who owned silky terrier as well. We chat about almost everything that regards to our gal (pups).  Just like parents talking about their own kids. So I tot why not give Sopra Ginza grooming a go. So after much consideration, I texted Sopra Ginza and booked my appointment for full grooming. The person who replied my texts was really nice and patience with my questions and answered almost everything I asked. Haha… 

Sopra Ginza Singapore is located at 236 River Valley Road S(238294), which is pretty close to where I stay. Quite convenient and easy to locate and most importantly! I have direct bus there… of cos I put Yoki in dog carrier if not I think I will be thrown out of the bus.  Sopra Ginza provides service like grooming, spa, day care, pets learning classes, sales of puppies, online shops and they do provide ala carte services like ear cleaning, nail clipping etc etc. Click here to find out the price list and services available. 

I have chosen the normal full grooming for Yoki and she falls under Yorkshire’s pricing which is $65. On the grooming day itself, I rushed and get ready and took Yoki over to Sopra. The 1^st impression I have was.. wow the huge clear glass!! This allows passerby to view the whole grooming process!! Cool isn’t it? Unlike some grooming places, they do not allow pet owners to view the whole grooming process which kind of worries them a little (after so many pet abuse news I heard recently).

When I stepped in the shop, there were barriers to prevent the doggies in the shop from coming out. There were so many dogs inside.. just like a big family and they were all so excited when they see Yoki.. Probably because Yoki was the only female dog in the shop at that moment (my Yoki is too pretty and cute too resist lah!! Ahem~) I did not managed to snap a picture of the dogs inside the shop as i wasn't sure if I am allowed to. 

I meet the groomer, Ms Kumiko who is a Japanese. She is very nice and patience while explaining to me the grooming process and also on how she intend to trim Yoki’s hair. She also asked me how I want Yoki to be styled. After much discussion, Yoki was brought in for her nice bath by Ms Zane who is a groomer as well. 

Yoki came out after about 20 mins or so.. did not managed to time as I was busy playing with the doggies in the shop.. cute overloaded!! Then Zane proceed on with cleaning Yoki’s ears, shaving her paw pads and Kumiko joined in to trim Yoki’s little head!! Both were very gentle with Yoki, and she wasn’t struggling or anything like what she did when I trim her (Angry!! She only bullies us!!). There is only one time where Yoki used her hand to push Kumiko’s hand away from her face, so cute! But Kumiko is still very patience and nice with Yoki. The whole fur cutting process took about another 30 mins or so as the fur on Yoki’s body is regularly trimmed by me so nothing really much to cut also jus that I am not professional as them to shape her messy head!! Haha~

Kumiko also added one cute red bow on Yoki after trimming… Super Sweet!! Yoki would never let me tie her hair!! Hope I have Kumiko’s skill on tying Yoki’s hair!!! For every customer who has their pet groomed at Sopra Ginza, a picture of your dog will be taken after grooming and printed out. This picture will then be pasted onto your Sopra Diary (pretty unique and cool I feel). Day care is also complimentary for dogs to stay till closing time after grooming. Doggies can play and socialise there where owners can go shopping without feeling guilty that their dogs are alone at home. Yoki did not get the chance to enjoy the day care as I brought her home after the grooming since I am not going anywhere. 

Overall, I am really satisfied with the Grooming experience and would definitely bring Yoki back another time and maybe for Spa treatment as well.. I wonder how will she feel when she is having her mud spa.. haha~

Before I start showing the products that I was sent, let me give you guys a little background of this company.

This company claims that their expert in anti-aging solutions (young ladies out there, our skin starts to age by the age of 20. Anti-aging products are preventative measures~)

I was given product based on my skin condition and age (ahem~ sensitive!) to ensure products are suitable for you. For those who are wondering, I have super dry skin, slight oily t-zone. Quite serious dark circles (Singapore have panda now, they came to visit me!!!) and slight scars pigmentation. Oh ya, I have pores issue around my nose too. Seems very serious huh?! ˇ︿ˇ

Step 1: Brighten Up Cleanser (5ml)

★ A golden liquid gel that effectively brightens and moisturizes the skin while cleanses and leave skin clean, refreshed and velvety soft.

❥ The brighten up cleanser has a mild aroma, not able to define what kinda aroma but it has slight of gingery smell which is quite pleasant. This product does not lather up into thick foam hence it is pretty gentle on skin to my opinion. After washing, my face is really velvety soft and smooth. It did slightly brighten the skin but not sure if it can last. No tight feeling at all. LIKEY!

Step 2: Perfect Daily Exfoliating Gel (5ml)

★ Perfect daily exfoliation gel is formulated using pineapple extract and witch hazel extract to help reduce dark spots and minimize wrinkles.

❥ This yellow exfoliating gel is quite gentle and small particles appear after massaging into clean washed face. It helps to remove dead skin cells from skin and allows skin care products to absorb better after that. Have not seen significant results yet since I have just used once.  

Step 3: SebumPurifying Bio Complex (30ml)

★By its unique BioE-Cell, it dissolves blackhead/whitehead and pesky blemishes while promoting healthy cell renewal. Accelerate the metabolism to improve the skin texture and repair weaken dark spots to become glowing and bring the skin color evenly.

❥ I was given full size product for this serum. It is a clear liquid and when applied to skin, I felt a slight warm sensation. Not too sure is it the product nature or is it just me but it did not give me any discomfort feeling. This product is slightly oily since it’s a serum but it absorbs into skin quite fast. Not sticky at all. According to the recommendation.

It stated apply twice daily, morning and evening on blackhead/whitehead area but the instruction behind the product states to apply onto clean skin and allow it to absorb. Suitable for oily skin (but I am dry skin??). I have used twice now and applied to whole face focusing on the nose and chin area.

I have noticed my t-zone is less oily after I applied on make-up. Will continue to use and update you guys. So far, I like the product. 

Step 4: Advance AquaGel (5ml)

★Advanced Aqua Gel is a highly moist gel which repair and increase collagen production all at the same time. Formulated using Q10, it fights free radicals and improves the look of wrinkles. Advance Aqua Gel also improve skin elasticity and tightness to have more delicate texture with tenderness

❥ Totally in love with this Aqua Gel!! It made my skin so smooth after applying and it has a very subtle fragrance which I like. The peachy gel texture is very light on skin and absorbs very well. So far so good in keeping the moistness in skin. Will update you guys more after using for a longer period (hope this little sample size can last enough to see real results).

Step 5: Eye BagReducer (5ml)

★This product is the answer to your eye puffiness (eye bag) and dark circles. The Eyeseryl ™ content will remarkably reinforce the reduction of inflammation beneath the eyes and quickly decrease the eye puffiness. The Haloxyl™ firm and tone up the delicate under eye area and prevents fine lines formation thus keeps the youthfulness within yourself. In just two weeks this serum will noticeably reduces eye puffiness without any irritation.

❥ A little goes a long way for this product. It is light amber in colour and to my opinion, this product is slightly sticky. Even after massaging the product into skin, it still leaves a slight sticky feel. I would recommend using it at night. Have not seen drastic difference on my eye bags and dark circles yet and will update more on this product. It claims that it can improve under eye puffiness within 15 days. Hope this sample size can last for at least 15 days. Haha!

Overall, I like the products sent to me so far not very much on the eye bag reducer as I do not fancy products that will leave even slight tackiness. Haha but if the product works miracle then I can endure (ok!! GIRLS~~~)

Hello girls, I know this is a super duper late post. I actually got 3 bella boxes but I will go through it one by one. The other 2 will be updated in next blog posts (April Box). Before I show you what I got from my Christmas box let me just do a brief introduction on bellabox.

Bellabox is a monthly subscription box which allows ladies like me who likes to explore on new products. Each bellabox comes with 5 sample sized products from shampoo, cosmetics to skin cares. Totally of surprise as you will not know what actually they are going to pack into the box. This is also a plus for ladies who love surprises (I mean who don’t??) However, not to worry that the product they sent to you are not suitable for you. You are supposed to fill up a questionnaire during registration to help bellabox know more about you and prevent them from sending products that you might not be suitable to use.

Why did I choose bellabox out of so many subscription boxes available? I think that the price for each box is pretty affordable and after researching and browsing their previous boxes, I feel that the product they sent me I would most likely be fond of. Each box is S$19.95 which I think most of us would be able to afford it and sometimes there are promotions where that particular month box are slightly cheaper (e.g: OCBC Credit Card promo and etc.. )

3. Guerlian La Petite Robe Noire EDT

❥ Divinely feminine scents means “Little Black Dress” in French. The inclusion if roses, orange blossoms, musk, cherry and apple. (I personally am not a fan of scents. I can only use one type of perfume which is Gucci Envy, I am very sensitive to scents that are either too strong or too sweet.) but this scents, I like it.. however not sure if I am able to take it.. will try it one day and feedback to u guys if I never faint. Haha!!

4. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Usage Dry Oil

❥ Luxurious oil treatment that can be used on hair (no heating required) as well as face and body. You can also drip a few drops into your bath tub to achieve perfectly soft skin. I have tried it on my hair as well as my skin. It feels good on skin, not too oily feeling and didn’t break me out but I only uses it occasionally when I remember to use. Have not tried it on my body yet.

5. MEMEME Lip and Cheek Tint

❥ Lip and cheek tint adds a flush of colour to the lip and cheeks. Of all the items I got, I most prefer this, I can say this product is pretty similar to benefit chacha tint however the pigmentation is slightly lesser than the benefit one. Very subtle pink and I like it very much (^‿^) and I think its full size!!

6. Cellilux Deep Sea Secret Glacial Mineral Gel Mask – Bonus

❥ This gel mask contains nutrients and rare glacial water to reverse damage to the skin and rebuild skin elasticity. It detoxifies hydrates and exfoliates the skin which results in brighter and youthful skin. I have not tried this yet so not much comments on this product. I will feedback to you guys if the product is good after I have tried it.

7. Bellabox Eyeshadow Brush – Christmas gift ^^

❥ Eyeshadow brush made of horse hair. It’s super soft and not scratchy at all when applying eyeshadow. The only thing is I wished the brush handle is pink instead of black hahaa.

Hello Everyone, long time no post ✖‿✖. Actually I have a lot of products that I want to review on just no time to concentrate on a post. A little updates of my life recently.


I got a puppy~ she is a silky terrier and she is now 3 months old. Mad cute!! Spent almost of my time with her (also one of the reason why I didn’t have time to post anything). She chewed on almost everything!! Can’t be left unattended if not, I don’t know what will happen to the things in my room. Oh I didn’t mention her name, her name is Yoki!!

Hello cuties, I have not done any favourite post before and I thought why not since I like to share with you guys on the things I like and which I recommend. So here is it…

✿ Make up products ✿

❥ Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo 24 hrs Cream Shadow (woo..that’s a mouthful)

Shades that I have à Bad to the bronze 25 & Tough as Taupe 35 but I preferred Bad to the bronze a lot more. View above for swatches of the product.

The consistency of the product is pretty smooth and it glides on the lid effortlessly. It is also very blendable and colour can be built up to your own preference. This cream shadow does not crease at all.. I wore it for at least 8 hours before and it did not crease on me. I do not have oily lids but I think for those who have oilier lids it can last at least 4 hours without creasing on you.

Bad to the bronze is a very nice deep brown bronzy colour which is good for everyday on the go look. You can also add some darker shades at the outer corner to smoke out the whole look. Love it!! I highly recommend this product.

Singapore has yet to launch this product, my best friend got it for me from Aussie when she came to visit me in Singapore. I definitely want to try out more colours… wait… wait… wait… for Singapore to launch. 

❥Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I got this foundation because I wanted to find a good coverage foundation for my bridal makeup. I was recommended by my friend that this foundation has very good coverage and the lasting power is awesome.

To start off, I read reviews online and also youtube and this product is indeed highly raved. Then I went to counters to get my foundation colour matched. I am around NC25 and I think Ivory is slightly lightly for my skin tone and Sand matches my skin tone. So I choose the one which match my skin tone so that I can wear more often and not just for the sake of bridal makeup.

The consistency of this product I can say is pretty decent, not too thick and not too watery. The coverage is medium but you can build it up to full coverage. I think the only downside of this product is that it is quite dry. It dries up pretty quickly and you need to blend faster to uneven patches. I would not recommend this foundation to someone who has super dry skin.

Overall, I like the coverage, I like that it helps to create flawless skin and like the lasting power. This product is my Holy Grail foundation!! ❤❤❤

❥Sephora ultra vinyl Lip Pencil

Love this Lip pencil, its super creamy and the colour pigmentation is pretty decent. It can be worn alone or top off with a gloss. It is also quite long wearing. Since its so convenient to put on, I have been using it like so often. haha. 

Downsides of this product à you need to sharpen it. I would prefer if the design is those twist up type lip pencil. 

✿ Skin Care products ✿

❥ Lancome Blanc Expert Derm-Crystal

I am a Lancome skincare freak… I have tried many of their products and the Lancome Genifique is my Holy Grail. I have been using it for more than 1 year and continuing. Let me know if you guys want a review on Lancome Genifique as I believe the reviews of this product can be readily found online. Haha.

Ok going back to Lancome Blanc Expert Derm-Crystal, this product is designed to target the dermis, original source of natural light, to reveal skin’s inner light as never before (referring to the website). Layman term: it helps to brighten or “Whiten” complexion and making skin luminous.

This product is lightly scented, love the scent of it and its pretty comfortable. The consistency of this product is quite watery when you 1^st drip out from the dropper however when it is applied onto the face, it became slight thicker and a little tacky, so bear in mind not to put too much product at one go.

Overall, it did brighten up my skin slightly and I have been using this product for about 2 months and only in the morning after my lancome genifique, will also update if the effect is better after a longer period of usage. 

❥ SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion

This product is remarkable!!! I believe everyone is raving about the Facial Treatment Essence however I personally feel that this product works better for me. I use the clear lotion as my toner after I cleanse my face with a cotton pad. I think this product works well as the 1^st step to keep my skin clear and it actually helps in getting rid of the little bumps on my cheeks (I am not sure why and how the bumps are formed but I hate the feeling of it!! I think it’s there when my skin is too dry)  as well as controlling break outs. So I can’t live without this product now haha!

The consistency of this product is very light and watery. It can be readily absorbed into your skin and does not leave any uncomfortable feeling. My skin feels smooth after applying it and I feel it actually prep my skin well for the next product. 

Overall, I love love love this product and super recommend to everyone. 

✿ Random products ✿

❥ Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush

I have previously reviewed on this product from Sigma. Click here for the review. I love to use this brush to blend out my liquid foundation. It enables me to achieve a flawless look and also make application of foundation a lot quicker. I just need to dot dot dot my foundation evenly on my face and in a few swipes using Sigma F80… tadah I am done!!! J

I personally love sigma brushes and I am waiting for my black Friday order to be delivered to me. I have ordered the P80 Precision Flat Brush. It like baby F80!! Cute!! I plan to use it to blend out my concealer. I will do a review once I receive the product.
